Biography
Andrea Leigh was born in the UK, grew up in Kuwait, Taiwan, Korea and the United Arab Emirates where she remained for 10 years before returning to the UK to pursue her dream of studying Acting and Singing.
Graduating with a B.A (Hons) degree in acting/musical theatre from the Birmingham School of speech of Drama, Andrea Leigh then toured with many shows both in the UK and Internationally.
Andrea performed as the lead vocalist for two separate summer seasons’ shows in Greece in the summer of 2004 and Turkey in 2006.
Andrea returned to Dubai to sing as the lead vocalist for The Big Life Band in 2006. Her performances with the band included weddings, corporate events and private functions.
Performing at venues around Dubai and the UAE has included The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Shangri-La Hotel, Jumeirah Beach Club, The Dubai World Cup, Montgomery Golf Club and many more..
Andrea has worked many residencies including the Madinat Jumeirah, Al Muna Restaurant, Jambase and Barzaar.
Brunch residencies include Al Qasr, Mazina and Latitude at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
Andrea has had the privilege to work with many of the UAE’s most talented artists and has performed various genres of music including, but not limited to, singing with a string quartet for the 5th anniversary of the Shangri-la Hotel, Duet with guitar player/singer Chad Sycamore at the Westin Hotel playing modern and contemporary music, at several events including, Live Jazz at the Chanel Annual Private Event, The Grand Opening of the Boardwalk at Downtown Burj Dubai and a variety of productions at Dubal and Mercato Mall.
Acting credits in Dubai have included, but not limited to, Murder Mysteries- Bond and Pirates both at the Armani hotel and the Waldorf, The Dubai Film Festival as a Moulin Rouge singer/dancer, Escape Real Estate Launch, Grand opening of the Radisson Royal hotel, Intercontinental hotel, The Dubai Glamour Mimes, Baroque costume work in Kuwait.
Recent Corporate Band events have included: Formula 1 – Abu Dhabi 2013, Conrad hotel, J.Ray McDermott, The capital club, The Ivory Lounge, Kempinski Hotel, the Kia car launch at the Grand Hyatt and many more.
As an Actress, Andrea likes to be versatile. In Dubai she is known for her Marilyn Monroe impersonations where she has sung and performed at prestigious events such as the Oil Barons Ball at the Meydan hotel, Oil Oscars at the Jumeirah Beach hotel, the grand opening of Novo in Abu Dhabi, Huawei launch, Mars Launch and Vegas night at The Act to name just a few.
Andrea is also involved in a variety of female vocal DIVA shows, which are all tailored to clients for corporate functions in Dubai. Recent clients include MAC, The GCAA and Emirates Platinum club.
MC work also includes clients such as Yas Mall, AL Raha Mall and Emirates NDB.
Radio credits include, but not limited to: Mazda, Mercedes EMC e-class, Novotel, Abu Dhabi Pearl Properties, Silver Jet and the Bahrain Mall.
